About Scoperly

Scoperly is an engineering company. We design, build and support software and systems in eight directions, and we say plainly what we do not do.

We build products of our own for a demanding, unglamorous industry: wholesale distribution, where every sale moves stock, money and a vehicle, and where a wrong number costs real money.

That work shapes how we build for others: understand first, design for the day after launch, and measure instead of guessing.

Principles

  • Understand before building

The first questions are about what you need, not about technology.

  • Say what we do not do

We do not build mobile apps, and we say so. When a task is outside our directions, we tell you at the start.

  • Build it so it can be maintained

Code, infrastructure and documentation that the next engineer can pick up, your own team included.

  • Security is a step, not an extra

Hardening is part of the plan from the start, not a patch after launch.

  • Measure instead of guessing

Speed, quality and cost are measured before and after a change.

What we hold ourselves to

Not a slogan: this is how our own products are built, and you can ask about any of it.

  • Automated tests

More than 5,900 automated tests across our two products, from single functions to full journeys in a browser.

  • The schema under version control

Every change to a database is a versioned migration: 283 of them across our two products, applied the same way on every installation.

  • Money is never overwritten

Debts and cash movements are journals: entries are only added, a correction is a new entry, and the database itself refuses anything else.

  • Security as part of the work

Tenant isolation, rate limits, firewall rules, encrypted keys, and audits with the fixes that follow them.

  • Documentation that stays true

A public API reference with a machine-readable contract, and a contract test that keeps it in step with the running API.

  • Updates you can undo

Our office server makes a backup before an update, and a failed update goes back to the previous version.

Industries we know from the inside

We know these areas from building and running our own platform, Scoperly.

  • Distribution and wholesale

Catalog and price lists, customer groups and discounts, sales, stock across several warehouses, returns.

  • Shop and HoReCa purchasing

A storefront and a marketplace where shops, restaurants and procurement teams find suppliers and order.

  • Delivery and field sales

Van sales and direct sales, delivery runs with a loading sheet.

  • Financial operations

Customer debts on an append-only ledger, cash desks, expenses and reports.
